In 2010 I had the privilege of meeting Janet Olsen, Founder and Executive Director of Arizonans for the Protection of Exploited Children and Adults (APECA).  It’s an organization that mobilizes people and resources in the fight against sexual exploitation and abuse. Together we created her first Best Year Yet plan for APECA, and she continued to use Best Year Yet® for a second year on her own with the support of her Board of Directors.

On a rainy afternoon 5 years ago fifteen members of the Aspen Executive Service Corps participated in a brainstorming session with a youth services organization called YouthZone.  The question Executive Director Debbie Wilde posed:

“Should we take what we’ve built so far and expand its reach to youth services
organizations throughout the U.S.?  If so, how?”

One thing I know for sure is that we are more powerful than we know. We are created from greatness, a source of help greater than ourselves with the strength, courage, and faith to live empowering and fulfilling lives. Yet when we forget this truth we give life a different meaning, one of struggle, hardship, limitation and uncertainty.
